Job summary

Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor in West Palm Beach seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal to support a busy insurance defense team in a high-exposure environment. The role requires 3–5 years of paralegal experience in a defense firm and strong litigation support skills.

You will draft pleadings, manage large document sets, coordinate hearings and depositions, and assist with trial preparation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as a paralegal in an insurance defense firm.
• Experience supporting personal injury litigation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and E-Filing.
• Trial prep and litigation support experience required.
• Ability to summarize medical records, billing and legal docs.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and case management systems.
• Litify or Clio experience is a plus.
• Paralegal certification or degree strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with case management from inception to trial.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and motions.
• Organize large volumes of documents including medical records and exhibits.
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Assist in trial prep with binders, witness lists, and exhibits.
• Conduct legal research and summarize depositions and reports.
• Manage expert witnesses and related communications.
• Handle electronic filings in state and federal courts.
• Track billable time and align with firm billing practices.
• Independently manage priorities in a fast-paced insurance defense practice.

Hightower, Stratton, Novigrod & Kantor is a well-established and highly respected law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal to join our team in our West Palm Beach office.

Position Overview

Are you an experienced Insurance Defense Lead Paralegal looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with 3-5 years of insurance defense experience to support our insurance defense team in a fast-paced, high-exposure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, from inception through trial
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and motions
• Organize and manage large volumes of documents, including medical records, deposition transcripts, and trial exhibits
• Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Assist in trial preparation, including trial binders, witness lists, and exhibit files
• Conduct legal research and summarize depositions, expert reports, and medical records
• Manage expert witnesses, including scheduling and communications
• Handle electronic filings in both state and federal courts
• Track billable time and ensure compliance with firm billing practices
• Independently manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume insurance defense practice
