Job description

Commercial Litigation Law Firm | Central Phoenix | Great working environment with flexible hours

Job Type: Full Time

Practice Focus: Commercial and business litigation, construction disputes, insurance recovery

About the Firm

Our client is a Central Phoenix commercial litigation firm founded in 2017 to give businesses large-firm trained lawyers without the overhead and cost that usually comes with them. With more than 62 years of combined experience, the partners have grown the firm to include five additional attorneys.

Practice areas include:
  • Business and commercial litigation
  • Construction and construction litigation
  • Insurance recovery and bad-faith claims
  • Dispute resolution, including mediator and arbitrator services
  • Outside general counsel services and estate planning
The Opportunity

The firm is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support all of the firm's attorneys across an active docket in both federal and Arizona state courts. This is a hands-on role in a small, collaborative firm where your work directly shapes case strategy and trial readiness. You will see matters from intake through trial or resolution, work closely with nationally experienced litigators, and have the variety that comes with a practice spanning complex commercial, construction, and insurance disputes.

The right person knows the Federal and Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure, is comfortable with court filing and procedural requirements, writes clearly, catches the details others miss, and can balance competing priorities for multiple attorneys without losing track of a deadline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legal Document Preparation: Draft deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Court Filings & Service: Prepare, file, and serve court documents through PACER/CM/ECF and Arizona state court electronic filing systems, ensuring all submissions meet applicable procedural rules and local requirements.
  • Case & Deadline Management: Maintain calendars for deadlines, hearings, and court appearances; monitor court dockets; and ensure cases remain on track across multiple attorneys.
  • Discovery Coordination: Manage document collection, organization, and production through e-discovery platforms, including Bates numbering, privilege log preparation, and document review support.
  • Trial & Hearing Support: Prepare trial binders/notebooks, exhibit and witness lists, and supporting exhibits. Assist with scheduling and logistics and provide attorney support during trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Legal & Factual Research: Conduct legal and factual research, obtain relevant public records, and review and summarize deposition transcripts, case materials, and key documents.
  • Matter & File Organization: Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files within the firm's document and matter management systems.
  • Attorney & Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day litigation and administrative assistance to attorneys and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Paralegal certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of legal experience, with substantial litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Experience using PACER/CM/ECF and Arizona state court electronic filing systems.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and legal matter/case management systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines, priorities, and assignments while supporting multiple attorneys.
