Job summary

Jobot is seeking a paralegal for a national civil litigation firm focusing on mesothelioma cases. Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial, draft pleadings, file summonses, prepare discovery, schedule depositions, and track client files.

Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with 3% employer contribution, PTO, and firm-paid HSA are provided. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $75,000 per year with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience preferred.
• Paralegal degree or certificate required or preferred.
• Product liability or personal injury experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents.
• File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions.
• Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates.
• Perform extensive internal and online legal research (court rules and procedures).
• Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, coordinate with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.

Job Details

Day to Day:

• 1. Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial;
• 2. Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents;
• 3. File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service;
• 4. Prepare discovery requests and responses;
