Jobot in Tampa is seeking an experienced paralegal to support a national civil litigation firm focusing on mesothelioma. You will assist lawyers from case inception through trial, draft pleadings, prepare discovery, file documents, and coordinate depositions.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents
• File summonses and complaints and coordinate service with vendors
• Prepare discovery requests and responses
• Coordinate and schedule depositions
• Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates
• Perform extensive legal research (court rules and procedures)
• Assist with trial preparation including binders, exhibits, and coordination with experts

Job Details

Day to Day:

• 1. Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial;
• 2. Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents;
• 3. File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service;
• 4. Prepare discovery requests and responses;
• 5. Coordinate and schedule depositions;
• 6. Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates;
• 7. Perform extensive internal and on-line legal research (court rules and procedures);
• 8. Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, coordinate with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.

• 3. Strong computer and procedural skills;
• 4. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills;
