• Manage intake of legal matters and provide initial impact analysis.
• Respond promptly and concisely to communications.
• Support high-volume matters and prep counsel for deadlines.
• Monitor matters and prepare status reports and calendars.
• Liaise with outside counsel, internal clients, and court contacts.
• Assist with workplace investigations and document reviews.
• Proofread and maintain legal documents and correspondence.
• Conduct factual and legal research and prep for depositions.
• Draft business communications and internal reports.
• Maintain the Office of General Counsel library/database.

Paralegal

Provide substantive legal and administrative support to the Office of General Counsel with respect to legal matters involving our financial services industry client and its subsidiary entities.

Responsibilities

• Manage intake of legal matters and provide an initial analysis of the impact on the organization.
• Provide prompt, concise, and comprehensive responses to all communications.
• Manage high-volume, complex matters and prepare counsel in advance of calls and/or deadlines.
• Proactively monitor legal matters, including preparing written summaries, case status reports, and tracking case calendars.
• Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude that enables independent work, sound judgment, effective problem-solving, and appropriate escalation when needed.
• Serve as a liaison with outside counsel, internal clients, court officials, and other relevant contacts.
• Support workplace investigations by working with internal clients to collect, review, and summarize information and documents.
• Proofread and maintain legal documents, business communications, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Conduct factual and legal research, support coordination of fact investigations, and prepare attorneys for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Draft business communications, reports, correspondence, and other written materials for organizational use.
• Ensure maintenance of the Office of General Counsel legal library/database, including the electronic document management system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
