Job description

The New York State Unified Court System is seeking a Paralegal (Management Analyst) that will be assigned to the Office of Court Administration Counsel's Office. This position will work closely with attorneys representing judges, court administrators and personnel, and the Unified Court System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with assistant deputy counsel in preparing responses to complaints and discovery requests.
  • Reviewing, summarizing, and organizing discovery (especially e-discovery), pleadings and other legal documents.
  • Conducting intake on new cases and working with supervisory attorneys to route matters.
  • Conducting some legal research and drafting under the direction of assistant deputy counsel.
  • Filing legal documents on NYCEF and PACER.
  • Preparing and managing exhibits for depositions and motion papers.
  • Processing litigation hold request letters, gathering information, preserving documents and responding to AG in coordination with Litigators regarding such requests.
  • Serving as contact for EEOC complaints.
  • Conducting UCC searches.
  • Inputting and updating matters in and maintaining internal case management system.
  • Generating case reports.
  • Managing Westlaw, Lexis, and NYLJ subscriptions.
  • Assisting with record-retention policies.

Qualifications: One year in the Principal Court Analyst title; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with paralegal experience are encouraged to apply.
