Paralegal - Personal Injury Litigation

Remote | Contract or Employee Option | Preference for Florida-based candidates

About Us

We are a boutique personal injury firm focused on helping people who've been injured—whether in car, bike, or pedestrian accidents, through defective products, dog bites, nursing home neglect, or other unfortunate events. We're a growing firm and looking for a reliable, experienced paralegal to join our team and support our clients through every step of their case.

About The Role

This is a remote position supporting a busy personal injury litigation team from intake through trial preparation. You'll play a key role in keeping cases organized, moving forward, and client-centered. You should be well-versed in insurance coverage and policy types to help clients understand their benefits and responsibilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced personal injury litigation paralegal who enjoys working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely cares about client outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Manage personal injury litigation cases from intake through trial
  • Gather and organize medical records, police reports, and supporting documentation
  • Draft demand letters, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and closing statements
  • Collect and organize documentation for all damages, including medical bills, lien statements, lost income verification, and out-of-pocket expenses
  • Prepare and negotiate medical bill reductions and follow up with providers
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, providers, and opposing counsel throughout the life of the case
  • Handle incoming and outgoing e-faxes and maintain accurate digital case files
  • Manage and monitor client medical treatment and ensure up-to-date records are obtained
  • Track case deadlines and ensure procedural steps are completed on time
  • Schedule depositions, mediations, IMEs, and hearings; coordinate with process servers and court reporters
  • Assist attorneys with legal research, client communication, and occasional marketing-related tasks
Requirements
  • 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience as a paralegal, managing cases from intake through trial preparation
  • Deep understanding of Florida personal injury case flow and insurance policy interpretation
  • Solid working knowledge of the Florida Civil Rules of Procedure
  • Experience preparing closing statements and negotiating medical bill reductions
  • Familiarity with Florida E-filing/E-portal systems and court procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal case management software
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to client service
