The Business Paralegal will be a key member supporting the Senior Leadership team of a mid-size law firm, reporting and providing direct support to the company’s General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Human Resources, as well as providing support as needed to other business personnel.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage Company’s Conflicts process, including gathering information, running searches and reporting all findings to necessary parties involved while maintaining the internal database.
- Maintain Insurance portfolio and assist General Counsel with annual renewal process
- Maintain Company database of Attorney Bar Registration, CLE information, PLI credentials etc
- Develop thorough understanding and knowledge of Company’s legal technology and software initiatives, including HRIS, and vendor management systems, as well as assist in evaluating and implementing other software as future needs require
- Support the COO in strategic projects, including but not limited to drafting NDAs, legal document production/preparation, involvement with confidential projects
- Liaise with external service providers as necessary
- Serve as general resource for the Leadership team members
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of corporate paralegal experience with a corporate legal department and/or law firm a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with capability and willingness to become proficient in all of the Company’s matter and contract management systems, required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, required
- Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at different levels throughout the Company
- Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
