Job summary

Picnic Point Elementary in the Mukilteo School District is seeking three paraeducators for 6.5 hours per day, 180 days per year, with benefits. Starting dates are as soon as possible, with hours 8:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

Responsibilities include assisting in a Structured classroom for students with Autism or related needs and supporting instructional activities. Minimum qualifications include WA para qualifications and experience with children; bilingual de-escalation skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet WA State paraeducator qualification requirements as listed.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Bi-lingual de-escalation skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with supervision of students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, and track student progress under supervision.
• Support behavior management and implement instructional strategies as directed.
• Provide clerical support and classroom assistance as needed.
• Administer first aid and assist with personal care as required.
• Assist with crossing guard duties before/after school.
