Job summary

Mukilteo School District Challenger Elementary in Everett, WA is seeking a Paraeducator for a 3.0 hour/day, 180-day school year. Hours are 10:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., starting immediately. The role involves supporting instruction for students with diverse learning needs under the teacher's guidance.

The position includes supervision during recess and meals, assisting with IEP-related goals, and helping with safety, transportation, and classroom tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold an associate degree or higher or 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher.
• Consider apprenticeship as a paraeducator or PESB-approved assessments as alternative.
• Demonstrated knowledge of math, spelling, reading, grammar, and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with daily supervision of students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect data, update records, and assess student progress.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with teachers and staff.
• Implement strategies to address diverse student needs and support growth.
• Provide clerical and general classroom assistance; data entry and materials prep.
• Provide first aid and personal care as required for students.
