Job summary

Mount Vernon School District 320 Little Mountain Elementary in Mount Vernon, Washington is seeking a part-time Paraeducator for Special Programs. The role supports students with high needs under the supervision of the classroom teacher and building principal, in SLC/ILC/Quest programs, with focus on behavioral and instructional support.

Responsibilities include implementing social skills, preparing materials, tracking progress, collaborating with staff, supervising during non-classroom times,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college credits preferred.
• Ability to meet state performance standards in reading, math and writing.
• Experience with significantly impacted students is preferred.
• Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish preferred or may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support students’ educational needs within and beyond the classroom.
• Assist with social skills, behavior programs and positive behavior management.
• Prepare materials and maintain records on student progress.
• Deliver lessons under supervision and collaborate with staff.
• Supervise students in non-academic settings and assist with personal care as needed.
