Job summary

LaVenture Middle School in Mount Vernon, WA seeks a Paraeducator for the Special Education Resource Room to support students and teachers. The role emphasizes IEP transition support, confidential classroom assistance, and collaboration with staff.

Required: AA degree or two years of college; experience with high school students; bilingual preferred. Work year is 180 days, 5.75 hours/day, with SEBB benefits and district payroll practices.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher, or two years of college (72 quarter credits).
• Ability to meet State-determined performance standards in reading, math and writing.
• Experience with high school age students; special needs experience preferred.
• Bilingual/bicultural preferred.
• Knowledge of Google applications; willingness to learn Skyward and IEP systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse learners and sensitivity to students.

Responsibilities

• IEP Transition Support: plan monthly transitions and prepare assessments.
• Post School Report: assist with contact collection and follow-up with graduates.
• Assist with IEP documentation and invitations; support scheduling and data entry.
• Help with online student evaluations and program documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
