Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is hiring a Special Program Paraeducator 1 for the Special Education Preschool unit at Marshall Elementary in Vancouver, WA. This is a one-on-one, part-time role supporting a student with special needs during Tue-Fri morning sessions.

Starting date is immediate; the position requires flexibility, teamwork, and ability to follow detailed educational plans. The district conducts background checks and requires official transcripts or ParaPro results for consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; official transcripts to confirm education.
• ETS ParaPro Assessment result of 461 or higher or college credits/associate's degree/60+ semester credits or 90 quarter credits.
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience in an educational team environment and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle diverse backgrounds and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing goals and IEPs; support students individually or in small groups.
• Manage student behavior and provide instructional assistance as directed.
• Prepare teaching materials and assist with data entry and record-keeping.
• Assist with activities such as feeding, toileting, and mobility as required.
• Participate in trainings and team meetings as appropriate.
