Job summary

Skyview High School in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 to support integrated communication and sensory programs. 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, non-exempt status with starting date immediately.

The role involves teamwork with teachers, implementing IEP goals, and providing behavioral supports for students with disabilities. Qualified candidates will have high school diploma or GED, and one of the following: an associate degree or 72/48 credits or ParaPro assessment

Qualifications

• Documentation verifying a high school diploma or GED AND
• an Associate’s degree OR 72 quarter or 48 semester credits from an accredited college OR ETS ParaPro 461+
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred
• Experience on an educational team and strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Work as a team member to assist the teacher in implementing and evaluating goals and objectives on individual student IEPs
• Monitor and collect data as directed by the teacher; cooperate with Special Ed staff to provide academic, sensory, and language support
• Provide main stream support when appropriate and help students with self-regulation and behavior management
• Attend training meetings and support data entry, record keeping, and lesson preparation
