Job summary

Davenport Community Schools seeks a Gen Ed Para Educator for Wood Middle School to support MTSS and PBIS initiatives. Entry wage is $16.39 per hour for new hires; bargaining unit rates apply for current employees.

The successful candidate will input data into the student data system, manipulate spreadsheets, and collaborate with teachers to maintain a positive, structured learning environment that helps all students reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Must input data into the student data system and manipulate spreadsheets.
• Ability to work with ALL students and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong inter-personal skills with culturally diverse students and families.

Responsibilities

• Will work collaboratively with teachers in MTSS to assist in the success of all students
• Will teach, model, and support PBIS in all building situations
• Will work with students in skills room
• Ability to work with ALL students
• Computer skills are necessary to input data into student data system and manipulate spreadsheets
• With classroom teachers, establish a positive learning environment while maintaining a structured setting
• Assist with and support classroom instruction
• Work with teachers using developmentally appropriate practices and follow directions for instruction
• Assist teacher in monitoring students' progress and provide feedback
• Maintain patience and positive interpersonal skills with all students
• Walk hallways during class or passing times and report issues
• Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues
• Build rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each reaches full potential
• Good attendance and punctuality are essential
• Familiarity with MTSS or willingness to be trained
• Familiarity with PBIS or willingness to be trained
• Other duties as assigned by building administrator
