Irving Consumer Products Limited is seeking a senior engineer to drive basesheet development within a multi‑year papermaking roadmap. You will design trials, set success criteria, and turn lab results into actionable go/no‑go decisions in collaboration with Product Management, Quality, Marketing and executives.

The role emphasizes leading product innovation, process optimization, and multi‑site technical support while mentoring junior engineers and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
• 10–15 years of tissue/towel papermaking experience, including TAD tech.
• Experience in R&D, product development, and/or quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of papermaking processes; pulp mill knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in experimental design, statistics, data analysis and visualization.
• Project management experience using A3 and Gantt charts.
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and cross‑level communication.

Responsibilities

• Own basesheet development initiatives as part of the 3‑year roadmap.
• Lead trial design, success criteria, and recommendations.
• Author trial charters and oversee validation runs and tests.
• Convert results into go/no‑go recommendations for reviews.
• Define specifications and Critical to Quality parameters.
• Execute external trials with suppliers and labs; NDA/data handling.
