Job summary

Sonoco Products Company is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead the paper mill, shipping, receiving, and stock preparation operations for a designated shift. You will ensure safety, quality, production, and cost control while directing a team of hourly employees and coordinating maintenance and emergencies.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 5+ years supervisory experience in Paper, Converting or Corrugated industries, and a Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering or Paper

Qualifications

• HS graduate or higher
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in Paper, Converting or Corrugated industries
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Paper Science preferred
• Experience with Oracle/GreyCon is required
• Ability to lead safety, quality, and productivity initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead plant safety policies and procedures including housekeeping practices.
• Promote safety engagement among all employees.
• Lead pre-shift safety meetings and monthly safety training meetings.
• Build effective relationships with internal departments.
• Control production workflow to optimize equipment capacity, labor and tools.
• Coordinate maintenance work and respond to emergencies.
• Monitor process controls and ensure quality procedures.
• Coach and counsel team members to company standards.
• Supervise shift employees to meet safety, quality, productivity goals.
• Complete daily timekeeping and shift reports.
