Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United States is seeking a paper machine shift supervisor to oversee the production of linerboard across the paper machine, recycle, and shipping operations. This rotating shift role focuses on safety, efficiency, and training.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related pulp and paper curriculum, with 3-5 years of experience and ability to manage schedules, equipment setup, and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or pulp and paper environment.
• Ability to work a rotating shift as required by production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and reduces hazards.
• Studies production schedules and estimates work hours required for completion.
• Initiates work requests for repairs and prioritizes tasks.
• Interprets and enforces company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.
• Sets up machines and equipment to meet safety, quality, and production objectives.
• Maintains time and production records and trains staff as needed.
• Conducts safety and crew meetings monthly.
