Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead safety-driven production in our paper mill. You will oversee crews, enforce policies, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires a proven safety record, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Paper Science or Mechanical) with 3+ years supervisory experience in the pulp and paper industry. Salary range reflects varied locations.

Responsibilities

• Support the goals of the business unit as set by the Paper Mill Manager and Mill Coordinators in Safety, Environmental Stewardship, production and standards.
• Ensure crew safety, train and adhere to policies; intervene to stop unsafe activities.
• Inspect equipment, oversee housekeeping, and write work orders for deficiencies.
• Assess performance of crews and initiate continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate production activities to meet department goals and optimize uptime.
• Assist operating crew with problem solving and coordinate maintenance activities.
