Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead paper mill operations including safety, quality, production, and maintenance across a designated shift. You will oversee Shipping, Receiving and Stock Preparation, adhering to safety and quality standards while coordinating maintenance and resources.

You will report to the Assistant Superintendent in the Production Department and must coach hourly staff, manage schedules, and drive continuous improvement on shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HS diploma.
• 5+ years supervisory experience in the Paper, Converting or Corrugated industries.
• Ability to coach and train employees and manage safety on shift.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant safety policies and procedures, including housekeeping.
• Coordinate maintenance work and respond to emergencies.
• Supervise shift employees to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.
• Complete timekeeping, attendance and shift reports accurately.
• Ensure adherence to quality procedures and production schedules.

Areas of responsibility include the paper mill with 2 paper machines, Shipping, Receiving, and Stock Preparation. The Shift Supervisor also has mill-wide responsibilities for prioritizing shift maintenance and responding to emergencies.
