Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Safety Manager for our Muskogee, OK paper mill. You will lead a Safety & Health team, oversee Workers’ Compensation and medical management, and partner with mill leadership to reduce risk and foster a learning culture.

The role requires expertise in OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and building sustainable safety systems. Strong leadership and coaching are essential to drive continuous improvement and safe operations.

Qualifications

Safety experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
Experience implementing EHS management systems and OSHA/state/local regulations.
Experience leading teams with coaching, training and talent development.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the facility Safety & Health team and manage workers’ compensation and injury cases.
Partner with site leadership to execute strategic safety and health plans and communicate performance.
Serve as liaison to Corporate Safety Capability and manage annual improvement plans.
Promote a PBM-driven safety culture focused on learning and improvement.
Oversee onboarding and safety training, using development plans to grow skills.
Lead hazard identification and risk assessments to address facility risk with key controls.
Strengthen hazardous energy control, line breaking, fall protection, and other safety programs.
Facilitate incident and near-miss investigations for learning and prevention.
Ensure OSHA compliance and drive continuous improvement through audits and metrics.
