Georgia-Pacific's Naheola Mill in Pennington, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to manage safe, reliable, and efficient pulp mill operations. You’ll interact with operators and customers to troubleshoot issues, drive improvements, and prioritize capital projects in a large manufacturing site employing over 900 people.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical background in engineering or related field.
• Experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Experience with equipment setup, operation, or repair.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and/or Project)

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and compliance expectations are met for the department.
• Lead efforts to improve asset performance and reliability regarding safety, environmental compliance, quality, utilization, and cost.
• Troubleshoot process, quality and equipment issues with operators and customers; evaluate improvement ideas.
• Evaluate, approve, and prioritize equipment repairs and shutdown activities; initiate capital projects as needed.
• Communicate with employees about vision, priorities, and business objectives.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis efforts and implement corrective actions.
• Use disciplined operations and KPIs to support daily pulp mill operations and maintenance activities.
