Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Monticello, MS is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support to the paper department and drive safety, reliability, quality, and cost objectives. The role reports to the Paper Area Leader and serves a team of 160+ colleagues.

Responsibilities include outage planning, small project execution, continuous improvement within the GP Operating System, and responding to machine upsets. 2+ years of manufacturing experience and a Bachelor's in engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting, commissioning, and/or improving manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Managing projects or leading initiatives
• Auditing LOTO procedures
• Participating in PHA audits
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Familiarity with PI Vision and ParcView data historians
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial operations

Responsibilities

• Influence safety and environmental excellence through hazard identification and risk reduction.
• Spearhead outage planning and execution to minimize downtime.
• Own small projects in the Paper Area as the Operations representative.
• Assist leadership with continuous improvement within the GP Operating System.
• Respond to machine upsets and assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Partner with the Asset Availability Leader to resolve process alerts.
• Write contracts and manage clothing and consumables inventory.
