Georgia-Pacific Monticello, MS is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support to the paper department and drive safety, reliability, quality, and cost objectives. The role reports to the Paper Area Leader and serves a team of 160+ colleagues.

Responsibilities include outage planning, small project execution, continuous improvement within the GP Operating System, and responding to machine upsets. 2+ years of manufacturing experience and a Bachelor's in engineering are required.

Formación

  • Troubleshooting, commissioning, and/or improving manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Managing projects or leading initiatives
  • Auditing LOTO procedures
  • Participating in PHA audits
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with PI Vision and ParcView data historians
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial operations

Georgia-Pacific is seeking aManufacturing Engineerfor our facility in Monticello, MS. This position will provide technical support to the paper department to achieve key operation objectives in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, production, quality, and cost.This position will report to the Paper Area Leader and play a key role on the paper team of 160+ employees.

Georgia-Pacific Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill that employs over 450 employees and continues to benefit from extensive capital investment. Monticello, Mississippi, is an hour South of Jackson, MS, and an hour Northwest of Hattiesburg, MS. Our engineering team is continuing to grow with these two new opportunities!

What You Will Do
  • Influence a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, risk mitigation, management of change, & safety initiatives
  • Spearhead event-free outage planning & execution
  • Own small project planning & execution in the Paper Area as the Operations representative
  • Assist Department Leadership with continuous improvement within the GP Operating System
  • Respond to machine upsets & assist team with troubleshooting & problem-solving exercises
  • Partner with the Asset Availability Leader (AAL) to resolve process alerts
  • Write contracts & upkeep clothing and consumables inventory
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Troubleshooting, commissioning, and / or improving manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Managing projects or leading initiatives
  • Auditing LOTO procedures
  • Participating in PHA audits
  • Using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Navigating PI Vision and/or ParcView data historians
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial operations environment
  • Experience with the following:
