Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a seasoned Paper Machine Superintendent in Indiana to lead daily paper machine operations, drive safety and quality improvements, and develop the production team. The role requires hands-on machine knowledge, strong leadership, and collaboration with Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering to meet performance goals.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in paper manufacturing, experience with CMMS like Maximo, and a proven track record in driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5+ years in paper manufacturing or related pulp and paper environment
• Hands-on knowledge of paper machine operations and troubleshooting
• Supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing
• Experience leading production crews or operators
• Strong understanding of paper manufacturing processes and metrics
• Experience driving continuous improvement and downtime reduction
• Experience with maintenance and reliability collaboration on capital projects
• Unionized environment experience preferred
• CMMS experience with Maximo or similar
• Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day paper machine operations to meet production, safety, quality, and cost goals
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to troubleshoot runnability, productivity, quality and process issues
• Drive improvements in machine efficiency, uptime, throughput, waste reduction
• Plan resources with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Mill leadership to minimize downtime
• Support maintenance activities, outages, capital projects, and reliability initiatives
• Analyze data and trends to identifyRoot causes and implement corrective actions
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees and training plans
• Develop production schedules and crew assignments to ensure staffing
