Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of paper mill experience.

• Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Well-developed people practices and the ability to build lasting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Foster safety culture by developing and implementing compliance and training.
• Oversee all paper machine operations to meet production, safety and quality goals while controlling costs.
• Inspect materials, products and equipment for defects and runability.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Mill leadership to plan labor, resources for production, maintenance and capital projects to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot productivity and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and coach staff on making safe and environmentally sound decisions and plans.
• Provide technical data analysis and monitor operating equipment for continuous improvement.
• Develop department employees through communication, training and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with the Union labor agreement.
• Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain Production Department crew lists and weekly schedules.
• Collaborate with shift supervisors to develop move-up training plans for each crew.
