Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in St. Francisville, LA is seeking an experienced Assistant Paper Machine Superintendent to lead safety-conscious operations and drive reliability across paper mill processes.

You will bridge production, maintenance, and engineering teams, plan outages, coordinate maintenance windows, and push for continuous improvement in equipment performance and procedures. A strong background in industrial maintenance and supervision is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in paper mill operations, maintenance, or related industrial environment.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Word; effective communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure work complies with procedures.
• Coordinate equipment preparation, permitting, lockout/tagout and materials.
• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and outage maintenance schedules.
• Prioritize maintenance activities based on safety and production impact.
• Coordinate downtime to minimize disruptions and coordinate with teams.
• Serve as liaison between operators, maintenance, engineers and supervisors.
