Job summary

Billerud NA is seeking a Paper Machine Coordinating Manager for the Quinnesec Mill to coordinate the Q41 paper machine operations, drive safety, quality and cost efficiency, and lead diverse crews across Dry End, Rereeler and Winders.

You will partner with maintenance for reliability, oversee staffing and training, and guide continuous improvements across capital and operational projects. This role emphasizes safety, quality and teamwork in a demanding manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in operations and/or technical responsibilities in pulp or paper manufacturing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in science, engineering or technology.
• Ability to conduct on-site inspections of the facility and moving equipment.
• Ability to flex from normal weekday work schedule to cover outages or special projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct production activities of the dry end of Q41 paper machine, Q41 Rereeler, Q41 Supercalenders, and Q41 Production Winders.
• Provide leadership and support to ensure employee safety and compliance with environment regulations.
• Responsible for safety, quality, cost and efficient operation of the Q41 Paper Machine.
• Provide operational direction and leadership to the crews and the Team Leaders.
• Provide input and direction to the maintenance team to ensure reliable operation.
• Department resources and coordinator for resolving operational issues.
• Conduct and direct efforts towards continuous process improvements (capital and operational).
• Participate in the hiring, promotional and certification processes.
• Provide leadership and support to promote reliable operation of paper complex production equipment
• Ensure product quality and consistency through the use of systems including PVR.
