Job summary

Billerud in Quinnesec, Michigan seeks a Technical Supervisor for the Pulp & Recovery area. You will lead a technical engineering group responsible for the pulp mill, recovery operations, and utility systems, focusing on safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

You will drive process optimization, capital projects, and long-term initiatives in energy efficiency and environmental compliance, mentoring engineers and using data to improve performance across fiberline, recausticizing, evaporation,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred).
5 years of operations/technical experience in manufacturing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead and work cooperatively with a team.

Responsibilities

Manage Technical group project load, prioritizing and aligning with mill objectives.
Champion safety and environmental compliance across all technical activities.
Support daily operations through process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Lead and support process optimization initiatives to improve yield and energy utilization.
Drive capital projects, trials, and process changes.
Develop and mentor engineers and technical resources.
