Job summary

Billerud in Quinnesec, Michigan seeks a Technical Supervisor for the Pulp & Recovery area. You will lead a technical engineering group responsible for the pulp mill, recovery operations, and utility systems, focusing on safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

You will drive process optimization, capital projects, and long-term initiatives in energy efficiency and environmental compliance, mentoring engineers and using data to improve performance across fiberline, recausticizing, evaporation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred).
• 5 years of operations/technical experience in manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and work cooperatively with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage Technical group project load, prioritizing and aligning with mill objectives.
• Champion safety and environmental compliance across all technical activities.
• Support daily operations through process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Lead and support process optimization initiatives to improve yield and energy utilization.
• Drive capital projects, trials, and process changes.
• Develop and mentor engineers and technical resources.
