Job summary

The Reef on the Water is seeking a Pantry Cook to prepare cold and pantry menu items with high standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety. The role requires collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure timely prep during service.

Essential duties include setting up the pantry, maintaining product levels, following recipes, and upholding sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment. A Food Handler certification or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent culinary experience.
• Previous restaurant or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as needed.
• Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain one, as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salads, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, sauces, dressings, and other pantry items according to recipe and presentation standards.
• Maintain proper food preparation, portioning, and plating procedures.
• Set up and stock the pantry station before service and maintain proper product levels throughout the shift.
• Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Communicate effectively with cooks, chefs, servers, and management during service.
• Monitor food quality and freshness and notify management of any concerns.
• Assist with prep and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and kitchen procedures.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain one, as required.
