Job summary

The Reef in Long Beach, CA is seeking a dedicated Pantry Cook to join our high-volume kitchen team. You will prepare salads, spreads, dressings and pantry items, ensuring quality, speed and consistency during service.

With a minimum of 2 years in a similar role or equivalent culinary experience, you will maintain food safety standards, work closely with cooks and servers, and adapt to a fast-paced environment while delivering a polished, on-brand dining experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent culinary experience.
• Previous restaurant or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as needed.
• Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain one, as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salads, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, sauces, dressings, and other pantry items according to recipe and presentation standards.
• Maintain proper food preparation, portioning, and plating procedures.
• Set up and stock the pantry station before service and maintain proper product levels throughout the shift.
• Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Communicate effectively with cooks, chefs, servers, and management during service.
• Monitor food quality and freshness and notify management of any concerns.
• Assist with prep and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and kitchen procedures.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
