Job summary

Highgate Hotel is seeking a Pantry Cook who will prepare cold and some hot items for the Restaurants, Room Service, and Banquets, following standardized recipes and hotel standards.

You will maintain clean storage areas, support banquet events, and work across kitchen stations as needed, with proficiency in multiple cooking techniques.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and culinary experience; flexibility for long hours and staying mindful of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hotel experience preferred.
• Culinary experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Know menus and required preparations per hotel standards.
• Keep storage areas clean and organized.
• Prepare stations before opening and ensure prompt service.
• Prepare and present buffet items per hotel standards.
• Master techniques: charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting.
• Identify quality in vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat.
• Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen environment and proper food handling.
• Assist in banquet food prep and service as needed.
• Support any kitchen position when required.
• Follow health regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment; follow production charts.
• Keep a 'Clean As You Go' policy.
• Rotate stock and manage storage properly.
