Job summary

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel Island, FL is seeking a Pantry Cook to join our culinary team on a busy resort operation. Responsibilities include cold line prep, maintaining freshness and organization, prepping soups, salads, hot and cold items, and ensuring pantry readiness for lunch and dinner.

You will help maintain par levels, assist with storage, and support with overall kitchen cleanliness while working weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Friendly guest service personality and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of normal cooking techniques.
• 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Exposure to hot and cold food preparation.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Works the cold line and ensures all product is fresh and organized for service.
• Prepares soups, salads, cold and hot items, buffet stock, and backups.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and proper storage (reach-ins, walk-ins).
• Sets up pantry station to be ready before lunch and dinner service.
• Oversees food quality and portion control; ensures timely service.

Job description

The beautiful Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, located on tropical Sanibel Island, is seeking a Pantry Cook to join our vibrant culinary team!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Works the cold line and ensures all product is fresh and organized for service
• Ensures completion of all prep and menu items in accordance with recipes and special requests. Assists the kitchen with preparing food for all facets of the kitchen when asked.
• Preps for soups, salads, cold, hot, buffet stock and back up.
• Assists with the cleanliness of the kitchen, reach in, walk in coolers, etc.
• Set-up and see that pantry station is ready to serve prior to lunch and dinner service.
• Overseeing see that all food prepared is of consistently high quality and that portions are consistently controlled. Food items are complete and out in a timely manner.
• Maintains adequate par levels of product in accordance with the direction of Executive chef.
• Covers, dates and neatly stores all meats, poultry, seafood and other food items.
• Ensures that the proper amount of dishes, glassware and baskets are placed in proper areas for service.
• Communicates to Executive Sous Chef in ordering needed supplies.
• Keep par stocks at proper levels. Increase or decrease production as necessary.
• Assists with the organization of ingredients, recipes and/or supplies to ensure consistency and an organized and efficient production of all menu items.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as well as overtime.
• Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management
