Job summary

Champion Integrated Building Solutions (CIBS) is seeking a Panel Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of the Panel Shop, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality assembly of electrical control panels, switchgear, MCCs, and distribution systems for custom industrial projects.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
5–10 years of experience in industrial electrical assembly, control panel fabrication, switchgear integration, or related operations.
Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience leading production teams supporting custom engineered industrial projects preferred.
Experience with power distribution equipment, industrial controls, or modular electrical systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the Panel Shop, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation.
Supervise, mentor, and develop panel shop personnel while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
Review project schedules and production priorities to effectively plan labor, materials, and equipment utilization.
Monitor production progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts, material shortages, or operational challenges.
Ensure all panel assemblies are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, company standards, and applicable electrical codes.
Support Engineering by providing constructability feedback and identifying opportunities to improve panel layouts, assembly methods, and production efficiency.
Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure materials, components, and equipment are available to support production schedules.
Oversee shop quality inspections and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities prior to shipment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all applicable environmental and workplace safety requirements.
Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and production performance metrics while identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
Maintain accurate production records, work orders, inventory usage, and project documentation.
Assist in hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development for panel shop personnel.
Participate in project planning meetings and provide operational updates to leadership.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
