Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a sheet metal assembler for 1st shift in Faribault, MN. Starting wage of $27.63 per hour with potential overtime.

You will read blueprints, assemble panels, inspect materials, and ensure quality while maintaining safety in a climate-controlled facility. We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and holidays, plus a pension program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, push, and stand for long periods in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Read and understand written English.
• High School Diploma or GED, or 2 years related manufacturing experience.
• Experience using hand tools and following safety procedures.
• Willingness to obtain PIT license and operate power equipment after training.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/specs to determine fabrication and installation methods.
• Visually inspect incoming sheet metal for quality.
• Spot weld, bolt, rivet, screw, clip or bond components to assemble panels.
• Inspect assemblies for conformance to specifications.
• Operate computer systems to read drawings (DocVu, VKS, AMS).
• Perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Coordinate workflow, paperwork, and communications with the team.
• Train new members on machines, safety, and quality.
• Maintain 5S and keep a clean work area.
• Follow safety manuals and company policies.
• Identify and rework defective pieces to meet standards.
• Use hand tools and operate PIT after training.
• All other duties as assigned.

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some overtime

Your Responsibilities:

• Read and interpretblue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.
• Visually inspect incoming sheet metal material to ensure product meets quality standards.
• Spot weld, bolt, rives, screw, clip,caulkor bond component parts to assemble panels.
• Inspect assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
• Operate computer equipment to read drawings of product or system includingDocVu, VKS and AMS.
• Perform basic maintenance functions according to equipment needs.
• Coordinatework flow, paperwork and communications to meet production needs, as directed by the team leader or supervisor.
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety,qualityand production.
• Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area.
• Follow and understandHOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License.
• All other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
