Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc in Faribault, MN seeks an entry-level fabricator to read drawings, assemble sheet metal components, and coordinate production workflow. You will operate tools and basic maintenance tasks in a climate-controlled, safety-focused facility.

The role requires reading English, standing for extended periods, and lifting/pushing/pulling materials in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine fabrication/assembly steps.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and stand for most of the shift in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• High School Education or GED, or 2+ years related manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/specs to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal.
• Visually inspect incoming sheet metal to ensure quality.
• Spot weld, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, or bond components to panels.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specs.
• Operate computer equipment (DocVu, VKS, AMS) to read drawings.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance as needed.
• Coordinate workflow, paperwork, and communications with team leader/supervisor.
• Train new team members on machines, procedures, safety, and quality.

Your Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.
• Visually inspect incoming sheet metal material to ensure product meets quality standards.
• Spot weld, bolt, rives, screw, clip, caulk or bond component parts to assemble panels.
• Inspect assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
• Operate computer equipment to read drawings of product or system including DocVu, VKS and AMS.
• Perform basic maintenance functions according to equipment needs.
• Coordinate work flow, paperwork and communications to meet production needs, as directed by the team leader or supervisor.
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production.
• Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area.
• Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License.
• All other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
