Job summary

Burke Porter, An Ascential Technologies Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a Panel Builder to assemble and wire industrial control panels. You'll work from schematics and engineering drawings to build panels, wire devices, fabricate cables, and assist with troubleshooting in a safe manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of wiring or electrical assembly experience, ability to read schematics, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of control panel wiring, electrical assembly, or related experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical components including PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, and control devices.

Responsibilities

• Layout, drill, tap, and assemble industrial control panels according to schematics and drawings.
• Install, wire, label, and terminate electrical components (PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for accurate panel construction.
• Build, route, terminate, and test electrical cables and harnesses; solder connectors as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and control panels (480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC).
• Verify wiring accuracy and ensure compliance with project specifications.
