Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our renewable energy team in Palm Springs, CA. You will service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This role suits an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on work, solves complex problems, and delivers excellent customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 4+ years of electrical experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades complying with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection
• Travel locally and respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites
