Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators. You will work onsite at customer locations, performing diagnostics and hands-on electrical work to keep systems operating efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• State electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar components and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades per NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage and lockout/tagout processes.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
