Job summary

Britt Medical in central Connecticut near Hartford is seeking a BC/BE Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to join a unique medical director role combining clinical practice with leadership. This 50/50 position provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across the Central Connecticut region.

You will mentor residents and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to advance growth, quality, and compassionate care within the program.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with CT licensure eligibility.
• Fellowship-trained and board-certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Minimum 3 years palliative care practice experience.
• Minimum 2 years physician leadership experience.
• Eligible for appointment to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
• Collaborative leadership style with strong emotional intelligence and clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• 50% administrative leadership / 50% clinical practice.
• Lead an established palliative care program.
• Provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across Central Connecticut.
• Partner with interdisciplinary team of physicians, APRNs, nurses, social workers, chaplains and bereavement specialists.
• Drive program growth, quality improvement and community engagement.
• Mentor residents and advanced practice providers.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, clinical excellence and compassionate care.
• Advocate for patients, families and care teams.
• Influence future direction of palliative medicine.
• Faculty appointment with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
