Emory University seeks a Board-certified or eligible Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician to join as an Assistant Professor. The role centers on inpatient palliative consultations, hospice care, and outpatient follow-up, with 184 clinical days per year and distributed call, primarily at Emory Decatur Hospital with potential duties across Emory facilities.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with an interdisciplinary team.
• Eligibility for hospital privileges at Emory Healthcare sites.

Responsabilités

• Provide inpatient palliative care consultations and act as attending physician for inpatient hospice patients.
• Serve as medical director for patients receiving inpatient hospice and coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Clarify patient and family goals of care and develop written care plans with the team.
• Deliver education to students, faculty, staff and co-workers; document services for billing.
• Participate in on-call coverage and weekly interdisciplinary team meetings; support SOP development.
• Teach, supervise, and evaluate students and house staff on hospice and palliative care rotations.
