Job summary

Jobtailor in Colorado is seeking a hands-on Pallet Repair Technician to build and repair wooden pallets from recycled materials. You will ensure quality, operate multiple woodworking tools, and communicate with supervisors to meet production quotas.

Ideal candidates have a high school degree (GED) and prefer a craft apprenticeship. The role involves physical work, lifting up to 75 lbs, and staying safe in extreme conditions while maintaining a clean workspace.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED is required.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship is preferred.
• Requires quick hands, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Observance of all safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools.
• Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and air particulate.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts.
• Personal Protective Equipment required including eye protection, ear protection where mandatory, and safety shoes.

Responsibilities

• Build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets, and/or lumber.
• Repair damaged pallets and return them to service-ready condition.
• Consolidate and ship repaired pallets back to customers.
• Utilize appropriate tools and methods for pallet repair.
• Communicate with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager.
• Examine repaired products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Build and repair assigned pallet quantities after training.
• Work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas safely.
• Stack pallets or materials correctly according to inventory control instructions.
• Check loads to ensure they are secure.
