Job summary

PLA in Houston, TX is seeking a GMA Pallet Repair Technician to inspect, repair, and rebuild pallets with precision, supporting daily production goals in a fast-paced facility. You will use hand and power tools to replace boards, reinforce components, and ensure pallets meet quality standards, while maintaining a clean, safe workstation.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; experience in pallet repair, woodworking, or carpentry is a plus.

Qualifications

Experience in pallet repair, woodworking, carpentry, or construction preferred.
Knowledge of operating various saws—usage, safety, and basic maintenance preferred.
Ability to work safely with high-powered saws and tools in a fast-paced assembly-line environment.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect defects or material inconsistencies.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Inspect pallets for damage, wear, and structural issues; determine the appropriate level of repair.
Perform repairs with precision to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Use a variety of hand and power tools to remove, replace, or reinforce pallet boards and components.
Meet or exceed daily production targets.
Identify and understand the different types and grades of pallets.
Conduct final evaluations of completed pallets to ensure PLA quality standards.
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment.
Inspect equipment daily to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Adjust or calibrate equipment settings as required.
Maintain a clean and safe workstation; follow all safety protocols.
Escalate technical or process issues to leadership promptly.
Partner effectively with facility staff to support smooth operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
