Job summary

Freedom Plaza Sun City Center is seeking a Painter/Maintenance Tech for full-time work at our premier retirement community in Sun City Center, FL. Starting pay is $22 per hour.

You will handle painting, wallcovering, drywall repairs, and prep for new residents, maintaining high-traffic areas with safety in mind. The role requires 3–5 years of residential painting experience, high school diploma, English proficiency, and ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of painting/wallcovering experience in a residential setting.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and communicating in English.
• Willingness to be available for emergencies regarding the community.
• Doctor's statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable in your state.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned painting/wallcovering as directed.
• Maintain the esthetics of high traffic common areas (painting and wallcovering).
• Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new conditions.
• Perform drywall repairs as needed.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Take all safety precautions concerning residents, staff and visitors (i.e. utilize 'wet paint' signs, safety cones, and caution tape).
• Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Three to five years of painting/wallcovering experience in a residential setting
• Working knowledge of commercial and residential painting/wallcovering.
• Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc.
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community.
• Doctor's statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable in your state.
