Job summary

Stancil in Concord, NC is seeking a skilled painter to apply finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, measure areas, select colors, prepare surfaces, and maintain safety standards.

The role requires completing an apprenticeship or equivalent training, teamwork, and willingness to adapt in a growing company. OSHA30 preferred; candidates must lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Measure area to determine paint quantity and type.
  • Prepare surfaces to be painted, removing old finishes as needed.
  • Mask and protect nonpainted surfaces.
  • Apply paint with brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
  • Perform stencil and line work on floors and other surfaces.
  • Follow safety regulations and proper waste disposal.
  • Set up scaffolding and maintain a clean work area.

Job Location: Concord, NC 28027 | Position Type: Full Time

General Statement of Job

Responsible for use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.

Essential Job Functions
  • Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
  • Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
  • Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
  • Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
  • Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
  • Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.
  • Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
  • Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places, and/or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
  • Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Working Environment and Conditions
  • This position requires working in varying environments including indoors and outdoors.
  • Individuals may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all-weather conditions.
  • Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends may be required.
