Job summary

Sea Box, Inc. in Cinnaminson, NJ is seeking an industrial painter responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces, preparing surfaces, and applying finish coats. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of painting experience in an industrial setting and will work on-site at the company headquarters.

The role is hourly with a pay range of $19–$25 per hour. Benefits are available for full-time employees, and the position may require overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Accident prevention and safety hazard reporting.
  • Identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Stencil lettering and identification on vehicles per specs.
  • Select paints according to color scheme and specs.
  • Stir paint, pour and apply primer or finish coat using spray gun; brush where needed.
  • Disassemble and clean painting equipment; handle solvents.
  • Lift production objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain alertness and safe work practices.

Job Purpose

Performs work in the painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures; may direct the work of other staff in the area; and perform related work as required. The Painter prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods and materials; mixes and matches paints and finishes; advises in the selection and storage of painting materials.

Job Summary

This position reports to the Paint Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of paint equipment and different paint systems. Must be able to work with paint suit and mask.

Duties
  • Accident prevention – actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
  • Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.
  • Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self- inspection of your work product.
  • Stencils lettering and other identifying information on vehicles according to specifications.
  • Selects paint according to company color scheme and specifications.
  • Stirs paint and pour into spray container and apply primer or finish coat of paint, using spray gun. Paint areas inaccessible to gun with paint brush
  • Disassembles paint equipment and cleans equipment using solvent, wire brushes and dry cloth.
  • Lifting production objects of up to 50lbs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements

Location: This position is onsite (non-remote) at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position may occasionally require working overtime and/or working outside of the Company’s normal 8:30am - 5:30pm hours of operation.

Skills/Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Hourly Rate Range: $19 - $25 / hour

Experience: The candidate should possess 2-5 years of painting experience in an industrial environment (i.e. manufacturing)
