Overview
Responsible for use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
- Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
- Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
- Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
- Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
- Performs basic stencil and line work, which may include painting lines on factory floors, parking lots, and other surfaces.
- Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
- Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education, Experience, and Training: Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training required.
- Motivated and works well with others.
- OSHA30 preferred.
- Willingness to embrace change in a growing company.

Mental And Physical Requirements

- Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently; must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
- Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- May work with or around chemicals requiring knowledge of safety data sheets.
- Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
- Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
