Aerotek is hiring a Painter in Mesa, AZ for a permanent, fully onsite role. The position runs 5pm–4am Monday through Thursday, offering hourly pay between $27 and $30 and comprehensive benefits.

You’ll work in an automotive/industrial environment painting HVAC components, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Responsibilities include leading prep, painting, finishing tasks, mentoring junior painters, and optimizing painting processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive/truck or boat painting environments.
• Proficient with spray guns, paint mixing and system cleaning.
• Ability to work wearing a respirator and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the preparation, painting, foaming and finishing of HVAC systems and components, ensuring high-quality work.
• Design and develop painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selecting coatings for different materials and environments.
• Coach and mentor Painter 1s and Painter 2s, providing guidance and training.
• Inspect HVAC components to determine the best approach for painting, including surface prep and coating selection.
• Manage and coordinate painting schedules for timely project completion and resource use.
• Perform complex painting tasks, including detailing, high-durability coatings and protective finishes.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure surfaces meet aesthetic, functional and durability requirements.
• Ensure painting work complies with quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment with preventive maintenance.
• Stay current with new painting technologies and best practices and implement improvements.
• Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
