Job summary

Aerotek in Mesa, AZ is seeking an experienced Painter to lead preparation and painting of HVAC components, using automotive-grade paints and spray systems. You will work in an automotive/truck or boat spray setting, wearing a respirator and keeping equipment in top condition.

The role includes designing coating procedures, mentoring Painter I/II, inspecting surfaces, coordinating schedules, and ensuring safety and quality in a fully onsite Gilbert, AZ operation.

Qualifications

• Experience painting automotive finishes and spray systems.
• Ability to set up spray guns and mix/clean paint.
• Familiarity with booth operation and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the preparation, painting, foaming and finishing of HVAC systems and components, ensuring high-quality work.
• Design and develop painting systems and procedures for HVAC projects, selecting appropriate coatings for different materials and environments.
• Coach and mentor Painter 1s and Painter 2s, providing guidance, training, and support to develop their skills.
• Inspect HVAC components and systems to determine the best approach for painting, including surface preparation, coating selection, and application techniques.
• Manage and coordinate painting schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects and effective use of resources.
• Perform complex painting tasks, including intricate detailing, high-durability coatings, and protective finishes.
• Conduct quality control inspections, ensuring finished surfaces meet aesthetic, functional, and durability requirements.
• Ensure that all painting work complies with company quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition and performing preventive maintenance as needed.
• Stay current with new painting technologies, materials, and industry best practices, implementing improvements as needed.
• Follow instructions and work under the supervision of more experienced painters.
• Follow lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for gained efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
