Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services on architectural finishes.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provides stakeholders with status updates, issues, key activities, and any changes to the scope of the overall project.
2. Documents and provides updates on work performed.
3. Develops scope of work for projects and identifies material and labor necessary. Obtains material pricing from vendors.
4. Paints interior and exterior surfaces of the facility. Installs and repairs wallpaper coverings.
5. Patches plaster, sheetrock, masonry, metal, and wood surfaces.
6. Inspects the condition of various architectural systems and finishes. Assists in identifying areas needing refinishing work. Makes recommendations of colors and finish materials to be used for the facilities.

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Experience

Approximately 2 years of experience in painting, plastering, and masonry.

If the role requires the use of a WCM vehicle for business purposes, a valid New York State driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, verbally and in written form.

Position requires working in a non-office environment with physical discomforts such as noise, dust, heat, fumes, and other elements; periodic work in animal research areas, machine rooms, crawl spaces, and areas with odors from maintenance products; leaks, dust, dark areas, dampness, restricted access, and noise; frequent use of ladders; work performed indoors and outdoors; ability to grasp, lift, or carry objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds and push/pull objects up to 100 pounds; use of hand tools, power tools, large wrenches; operation of valves; visual and auditory observation of equipment; walking, standing, climbing ladders/scaffolds, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
